The Unknown Review

The Unknown by Lara Henley

Misty found out early in life that things just don't come easy. She has learned to trust no one, and that you can't depend on anyone but yourself when the chips fall. Finally free of the states clutches she sets out on a whirl wind adventure called LIFE....
But she never expected Drake....

Drake... is Use to being in the lime light just graduated from college. Wondering what's next? Misty is a welcome surprise. So different from his everyday mundane experiences..

Can two completely different people share a journey that could change both of their lives forever? Or will they end up destroying each other in the process?

Escape to The UnKnown

The Unknown shows us that real love is out there and sometimes you can have love at first sight. It also shows us that no one can have a fairy tale romance, that no matter how perfect the story seems there is also something that just throws your life for a loop.

Misty lost everything as a child, she lost her parents, her home and her life. After being shoved into the system Misty finally ages out and heads to live with her aunt. Along the way she meets Drake, a man who seems too good to be true. Misty and Drake seem to have it all until the thunderstorms of life roll in.

I love this book because it shows us that love is not a fairytale and that sometimes they do not live happily ever after. The cliffhanger at the end really got me and left me wanting more but I never saw the twist at the end coming. You will be shocked, you will feel pain, you will laugh all while reading this book. This has became one of my favorite books and I will be sitting on pins and needles until the next one is out and I find out what happens to Misty and Drake!

Protected

At the start of her senior year at Kingsbrook College, a small school in Northern Michigan, Ariya Adams has a perfectly normal existence. Determined to make this her best year yet, she attends her classes and hangs out with the friends she has come to love more than life.
That is until the arrival of the sexy and mysterious transfer student James Rymer, who captivates her affections almost instantly. With her emotions on the fritz for no apparent reason, and unsure if he shares her feelings, Ariya finds herself on an emotional rollercoaster in which everything she knows and loves is questioned.
When fantasy and reality mix, Ariya’s world is turned upside down and she learns that “normal” isn’t what she thought it was. Danger soon comes for her and she discovers that everyone has been keeping secrets from her. The battle between one’s duty and what feels right will have to be fought and it may be a struggle for Ariya to stay alive. When Ariya’s life and the lives of the people she cares for most are endangered, she learns to never underestimate the power of blood.

Awakened

Nothing is ever quite as it seems, at least not for Ariya Adams. She’s only recently discovered the supernatural world is real, and that world wants something from her. Her blood. Her unique ability to heal both werewolves and vampires with only a few drops gives Ariya a great power. However, that power has put her in unfathomable danger.
James, her sexy vampire boyfriend and Protector, has done well keeping Ariya safe in the past. When a new, more powerful and manipulative evil comes into play, it may prove to be more than they can handle, especially when their forbidden affair makes Ariya more vulnerable to the deceptive new enemy seeking to control her. Her grasp on reality will be tested and twisted as she battles to save James, her friends, and herself.
Despite her determination, she may be faced with a pain greater than she ever imagined. Even the most powerful abilities have limitations, and this time, the power of her blood might not be enough to save those she loves most. If all else is lost, will Ariya survive?

Untitled Book 3 in the Ariya Adams trilogy is set to be released in early 2014.

Harvest Moon Review

Harvest Moon (A Moon Coven Series Novella)

By: K.B. Miller

Synopsis

Seventeen-year-old Lochlan Moon had been groomed his entire life to accept the torch that would eventually be handed to him, and step into his destiny - to be the most powerful witch in almost five hundred years. He put his heart and soul into mastering a craft passed down through the generations of his ancestral bloodline.

Between the savage murder of a family member, and vanishing classmates, doubts that he'd kept buried began to resurface. Someone or something is on a monstrous killing spree in his home town of Hampstead. Lochlan is determined to help stop whatever it is.

All the while, his future within the family's circle teeters on a deadly precipice.

Will any of the witches survive to harness the magick within... after the Harvest Moon?

Lochlan Moon is the child of the most powerful witch he knows and he has learned everything he knows from her. Now though his powers are giving him and his family more then they bargained for.

Vampires are after them and targeting the ones they love and care about. Lochlan will make the choice once and for all to do what it takes to save his family.

I loved this book, honestly so far it is my favorite out of the Moon Coven Series!! Lochlan is a head strong man who will not sit back and be preyed upon, and I love that about him!! I also love how he makes the hardest choice for his mother but makes it to protect his family there and in the future. Harvest Moon is a real grab you by the shirt and hold you there type of book cause you will not want to put it down until your done. Then when you are done you will be begging for the next book which is exactly what I did.

I can not wait to read more of the Moon Coven Series books!!!

Okay, so I'm supposed to tell you about me...
Seriously, if I wrote a book about myself it would take you 10 minutes to read and you would be bored stiff after the first 2! LOL

I'm a full-time writer, wife, and mother. Which basically means there's always a surplus of pencils lost somewhere in my hair, I usually have some place to be(I'm always late), I have a bad habit of calling family and friends random character's names (from my books), I talk to myself because no one else listens to me, and I can throw together a mean dinner for 8 with only 10 minutes notice and four ingredients in the pantry, LOL.

If you can't find me on the sidelines of my sons' football games, online, cooking, cleaning, shopping, at the local coffee joint or on the phone wandering aimlessly throughout my house then I've probably hidden myself in my "bat-cave" to write.

I have a positive attitude, and absolute fun-loving approach to life. That makes it easy for the voices in my head to take over on a regular basis providing endless hours of entertainment for your pleasure.

Random facts about me:

~My favorite color is pink
~I have a Bishon Frise puppy named Cullen Edward
~My favorite music is hip-hop
~I have a severe addiction to coffee. So much so, that people close to me refuse to speak to me before caffeine O'clock! True Story

Enjoy the ride.
~K.B. xoxo

A Risk Worth Taking Review

A Risk Worth Taking by Heather Hildenbrand

Synopsis:
**New Adult title. Due to content, this title is not suitable for young readers.**
When 22-year-old Summer Stafford’s parents split halfway through her senior year at college, Summer’s world is rocked. Everything she thought she knew—heck, everything she thought she wanted for her own life—feels like a lie. The truth is love is a risk. And the true kind, the kind that lasts, might even be a fairy tale.
Reeling from the divorce, Summer derails her own future by breaking up with her parent-approved boyfriend and giving up her lifelong plans for a big-city career. She moves back home, business degree in hand. Dad needs her to fill the gaps her mother left behind; Summer needs to find who she is outside of the cookie-cutter life that failed so miserably for her parents.
Ford O’Neal’s future involves one person: himself. He doesn’t have a permanent address and he definitely doesn’t commit. To a place or a person. Raised by hippies, he plans just far enough ahead to secure his next stop, this one landing him at a work-study program at Heritage Plantation where he can grow his own herbal and medicinal creations.
Summer is gorgeous and smart and fun to be with, the perfect way to pass five months. It won’t be love—Ford’s got too many things to accomplish, too many places to go, before he settles down. Yet Summer pulls him in, challenging him to rethink his own philosophy.
When Ford’s five months are up, each of them must decide if love is really worth the risk.

Review
Summer's life has been flipped upside down by her parents split and when she thinks it can not get any worse in walks Ford into her life and really shakes things up. She had been questioning everything about love before him and now he has her questioning herself.

This is one of the best romance books I have read in awhile. Its a true summer love story, if you have ever had a summer love this book will take you back to it. I loved the book and would recommend it to anyone who loves reading a good romance.

It is also something completely different from what Heather usually writes and that is something else I love about it, yes I love her fantasy type books but this one shows that she can veer off into something else and her fans still love it! I can not wait to read more romance books by Heather!

Heather Hildenbrand was born and raised in a small town in northern Virginia where she was homeschooled through high school. She now lives in coastal VA, a few miles from the Atlantic Ocean, with her husband and two adorable children. She works from home, part time, as a property manager and when she's not furiously pounding at the keyboard, or staring off into space whilst plotting a new story, she's helping her husband with DIY projects in their home (he woodworks - she paints) or she's lying on the beach, soaking in those delicious, pre-cancerous rays. Heather loves Mexican food, hates socks with sandals, and if her house was on fire, the one thing she'd grab is her DVR player.

The Prophecy Of Natalie Bradford

The Prophecy of Natalie Bradford

On December 21, 1974, Liz Bradford was murdered in the front

hometown of Tupelo, Mississippi. Her husband, Devon Bradford was also
involved in the shooting and transported to North Mississippi Medical
Center where he underwent surgery and first crossed Natalie Bradford’s
path. She was his operating room nurse that night and had no idea that
within three years she would be married to a killer. Haunted by the ghost
of Liz Bradford, Natalie becomes the target of paranormal activity and
a string of coincidences that will ultimately paint a picture of what is
coming for her. An uncanny flow of synchronistic events will eventually
answer questions she had not begun to ask.
Inspired by a true story, The Prophecy of Natalie Bradford is the incredible
tale of how Natalie Bradford finds herself entangled in a series of prophetic

Mel can't bring herself to leave him. But she is beginning to wonder what lengths Colter will go to if she does.

My Review:
Love Hurts was a very good read, it had me drawn in a few pages into it and I finished it in one day cause I just could not put it down. I do think it could have been a little longer just to see what happen to Colter for what he did, what happen to Mel after she went ahead and went to the police about everything and what happened between Mel and Dustin after everything was said and done, but maybe that leaves room for a second book, not about abuse but just a follow up story or showing what all happens afterwards. I really enjoyed reading this book and could see myself reading more books by this author!
